Stand in line for holiday stamps, behind the sweetest, slowest grandma in Central WA, (I am thinking of leaving in February for a few weeks, shall I fill out my card to hold my mail today? Where is that quarter, I know its in the bottom here somewhere; did I tell you my grandson called me yesterday?) I realize it's an important social outing saying "Hey" to the folks at the post office, but impatient I was. At least I wasn't the holiday postal patron holding a dolly full of boxes in one hand and a basket of cards needing stamps in the other - check
Sit and read the list of noteworthy books of the year - check
Find a new holiday front door wipe your feet mat at Bi-Mart that will fill the bill, according to youngest daughter, this was one item I was seriously slacking on in my slow to decorate house mode. So high holiday it is! Starting at our front door! check

Hear all about son's planned wonderful Portland weekend where he not only has his best friend in town, home on a 30-day leave following his third Iraq tour, but he has orchestrated a fine BD celebration for his new GF on Satuday night, an outing to the shiekest Nutcracker Ballet, dinner, nightlife and a stay in a posh downtown Portland hotel, surrounded by city holiday ambiance and lights, kind and caring, that's my boy- check
Check in with college roommate about her grand finale FBI citizen's camp and her 53rd BD, no call back yet, check
Watch James drool and moon over a new gun to take out on the shooting range. He has me hold it, says its a good size for me; I am drawing every possible blank known to female-kind as it feels like a heavy gun and no more. He is smiling, it's been awhile, so if he's happy, I am happy - check
